BOONE, Iowa---More than 1,700 Alliant Utilities customers in Boone were without power for more than an hour Wednesday afternoon. Scott Drzycimski, Communications Program Manager, says the problem was traced to a transmission issue, were an arrestor on a transmission line on the south side of Boone failed causing the outage. In fact, the outage also affected some of the service for Midland Power customers. Repairs were made and service was restored by 3:30 in the afternoon.
