BOONE, Iowa---Boone County has had the State Auditor conduct the annual audit for a number of years, and the recently completed report for the 2010 Fiscal Year has just been released. Local tax revenue in Boone County was just under $40 million. The County retained just over $7 million to finance operations. Total County operations were at $18.6 million. $6.5 million went to roads and transportation. $2.8 million was spent on public safety. The audit report was released Tuesday.
