County Budget Adopted

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Board of Supervisors were able to adopt the Boone County Budget for the 2012 Fiscal Year, during a special meeting Monday morning. The original hearing was to have been held on March 9th, but had to be moved due to a missed publication. The budget calls for a 5% increase in property taxes being sought by the county. The urban rate will remain unchanged while the rural rate will increase .10 per thousand dollars. Budgets for the County and the cities in the county need to be submitted by Tuesday.
