Moratorium Gets 2nd Approval
BOONE, Iowa---A moratorium on land division and development in the Des Moines River Valley in Boone County has been approved for a second time. The Boone County Supervisors want the moratorium to allow a committee finalizing mapping for a conservation district overlay program completes it's work. A conservation district overlay is used on environmentally fragile land along the Des Moines River. Supervisor Mike O'Brien has said he wants to see consistency in the use of a conservation district overlay.
