Boone County Assistance Rises

BOONE, Iowa---As of Thursday morning, the Federal Emergency Management Agency had approved nearly $73,000 in grants to homeowners and renters in Boone County as the result of storm damage and flooding from June, July and August. John Mills with FEMA says the number of registrations continues to increase daily and inspectors are able to quickly move in an assess the damages. Mills says even if residents received assistance else where, through the state, Red Cross or some other agency, they still may be eligible for FEMA assistance. He says registration continues through November 12th. Call 1-800-621-3362 or visit DisasterAssistance.gov.
