BOONE, Iowa---Teen Dating Violence and Abuse occurs in rural Iowa just like it does anywhere else, according to Alicia Cox of ACCESS and Tina Hopkins of Teaming Together for Teens. The two appeared on the KWBG News and Public Affairs Program Monday and explained efforts to educate youth about proper behavior. Cox says only 8 states currently require a segment of school curriculum to address the issue. Hopkins says teaching the appropriate behavior should be an on going effort by parents and schools. There is currently a bill in the Iowa Senate that would include Teen Dating Violence in school curriculum.
