BOONE, Iowa---Boone Public Works has been working with FEMA representatives to secure federal dollars to cover the costs related to storms in Boone this year. Now the City's Utility Department is lining up assistance. Utility Superintendent Roy Martin says heavy rains in August caused damage to stream banks and to the inside of the water pollution control plant. He told the City Council that FEMA recently indicated the City could qualify for $300,000 in assistance for related repairs.
