Paid on Call Firefighters

BOONE, Iowa---The effort to support full time fire fighters in Boone was recognized at this week's City Council meeting, when eight members of the paid on call staff were recognized for obtaining their Firefighter I Certification. Boone Mayor John Slight says he's been very pleased with the efforts that have been taken since the Council decided to move ahead with it's Department of Public Safety concept. Not only are there paid on call fire fighters, but several city staff members and members of the Police Department are cross training as well.
