BOONE, Iowa---Emergency responders rescued 16-people from the Des Moines River Sunday afternoon. Boone County Sheriff Ron Fehr reported that a deputy responded to the call about a quarter after four in the afternoon. Three canoes were tangled in some branchs near the Kater Shelly High Bridge. Boone County Search and Rescue and the Boone Fire Department Fire and Rescue were also involved. There were no reports of any injuries. No one was hospitalized.
