BOONE, Iowa---The city's sanitary sewer rehabilitation project at 6th and Story Streets came to a standstill late last week, when the site was being prepared for boring. City Attorney Wayne Schwartz told the City Council that the contractor apparently struck and old cistern dating back to the 1880's. Unfortunately there was liquid in the tank and it had an odor of fuel. Testing is being done to determine exactly what was found and to determine the best way to treat the problem.
