BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Board of Supervisors have approved the first consideration of a new ordinance that will give law enforcement additional charges to deal with "Social Hosting". The ordinance is similar to one adopted by the City of Boone and is the same as the ordinance being proposed to both the Madrid and Ogden City Councils. The ordinance is the work of the Boone County SAFE Coalition and local law enforcement. It gives law enforcement a charge to use when there is not enough evidence to charge adults responsible for hosting parties for underage youth with a criminal offense. Supervisor Bill Lusher says the ordinance is something that should have been in place a long time ago.
