BOONE, Iowa---Heavy weekend rains have pushed the Des Moines River at Stratford to near record levels, causing major flooding through Boone County. Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Morlan says all indications are that US Highway 30 will be closed west of Boone by late Tuesday. The decision will be made by the Iowa Department of Transportation. Morlan says it does appear that the river level will not cause the closure of Old Highway 30.
