BOONE, Iowa---KWBG listeners stepped up Thursday, pledging more than $2,000 to the City's 2010 4th of July fireworks display. This year, the City Council had to reduce the amount of dollars made available for the show. Since then, Boone Mayor John Slight has started a program to collected pop cans, but that will still be short of the $10,000 needed to pay for this year's show. Donations will still be taken by the City and can be dropped off at City Hall or with a utility bill. The annual fireworks display is held at the Boone Speedway on the south side of the city. Photos of the live broadcast are available at KWBG's Fan Page.
