BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council did approve a change order for the current sanitary sewer rehabilitation project. Doug Ernst with Foth Engineering told the Council Thursday that when workers uncovered the Honey Creek Storm Sewer on 8th Street, it was apparent that the sewer was on the verge of collapse. Ernst told the Council that traffic on 8th Street over the years was probably a contributing factor to the condition of the storm sewer. The additional work will cost $44,000 on the $4.6-million project.
