Traffic Issues Expected During RAGBRAI

BOONE, Iowa---Boone Police Chief Bill Skare has said travel in Boone next Tuesday and Wednesday will be possible, but people will need to be cautious. Skare says traffic will be diverted on a number of streets or will be available for local residents only. Tuesday, Skare says suggested routes north and south will be Benton Street under the viaduct, Division from Park to 9th and Marion Street. East and west will be 22nd Street, which is expected to have heavy bike traffic, 11th Street which will be closed at Division, 8th Street from Greene to Allen and US Highway 30. Access to many parks and camping areas will be limited.
