BOONE, Iowa---Efforts by Boone officials to keep Story Street open during the sanitary sewer rehabilitation project will not be possible. City Administrator Luke Nelson says the plans to bore pipe under Story Street is not working. Nelson says beginning Monday, Story Street will be closed at 6th Street so the project can proceed. He says the closing will be for a week with the intersection open for the 4th of July weekend. Work will continue after the holiday weekend and weather permitting will be completed by July 7th.
