BOONE, Iowa---The Boone community celebration gets underway Thursday evening at 9th and Keeler in downtown Boone. After three-years away, celebration moves back and has generated quite a bit of excitement. Kurt Phillips, Chamber Executive Director says the move back has meant some minor changes, some consolidation of activities. He says the corporate sponsors have stepped up to help make the return a success and the good weather isn't hurting anything either. Because most of the activities are downtown, several streets are closed for the celebration and the motoring public is encouraged to use caution.
