Unauthorized Tree Plantings Discussed

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone Park Commission began a discussion of issues with unauthorized tree plantings in the City. The matter comes up ever couple of years, when people plant trees on city parking. City officials have said one of the bigger problems is the City's Public Right of Way Ordinance which is handled by the Building Department. The ordinance deals with aspects of Right of Way usage. The City also has an ordinance that specifies types of trees that may be planted on the Right of Way. Officials say to prevent any problems people avoid planting on the parking.
