BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council is hoping to be able and give consideration to an amended Consent Order from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The Consent Order requires that the City continue to deal with sanitary sewer issues. The Council has already agreed to continue work but had some issues with language that said there would never be another sanitary sewer back up in the community. Council Member Gary Nystrom noted that this past summer, parts of Dubuque received 14-inches of rain which would most certainly cause sewer back up.
