New Police Officer Takes Oath

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone Police Department added another officer this week, as Ethan Bailey took the oath of office from Boone Mayor John Slight. Slight in turn asked Bailey's father, Ogden Police Chief Mick Bailey to present his son his badge as a Boone Police Officer. Bailey still needs to attend the Law Enforcement Academy and will be crossed trained, like other Boone officers to respond to fire calls as well. Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Bill Skare says the hiring of Bailey fills a void created with the recent resignation.
