Burning Hours Extended

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council, on a 4-to-3 vote, approved making it more convenient for Boone residents to be able to get home from work and burn yard waste in the fall. The Council approved extending the hours of open burning until 7:00 PM. The ordinance adopted in 2000 set the hours from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The Council was presented with a petition with a few dozen signatures asking that no change be made in the time for open burning.
