Traffic Dominates Site Plan Discussion

BOONE, Iowa---As expected, the Boone City Council addressed the site plan for the proposed Wal-Mart Super Center Store on the south side of Boone during Monday's meeting. Most of the discussion seemed to focus on traffic and in particular traffic at South Linn Street and US Highway 30. To move the project ahead, the Council decided on minimal improvements at South Linn. The access to Highway 30 will be widened to facilitate a right turn lane and also a lane to allow traffic to cross west bound traffic to the east bound lanes. Engineers still say the majority of the traffic will come from the north.
