Boone Voters Approve Bond Referendum

BOONE, Iowa---A large voter turn out left many standing in line for as long as an hour during Tuesday school election in Boone.  The big attraction, a proposed $16.1 million bond referendum to finance the renovation of the Boone High School.  Voters overwhelmingly approved the measure giving the vote an 81% voter approval, well above the required 60% super majority.  There were 1,560 yes votes to 364 no votes.  The Boone County Supervisors will canvas election results Friday afternoon.
