School Election Draws Near

BOONE, Iowa---Early votes continue to be cast for the Boone School District election, especially on the matter of the $16.1 million bond referendum. So far, no formal organized opposition has developed, even though some residents have expressed concern about the impact on property taxes. The School Board was able to lower the tax rate for the next year by more than two-dollars and is hoping that voters will allow it to be added back on for the high school renovation project. Early voting is still available through the Auditor's office at the Boone County Courthouse.
