Neighborhood Stabilization Program Back Again

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council will be debating an amendment to their current agreement with the Region 12 Council of Governments based in Carroll. The Region 12 COG is serving as the administrative agency dealing with the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The program initially made money available to purchase fore closed homes, rehabilitating those home and them reselling the property. Several Council Members have not been satisfied with the number change orders associated with the work. However, the City is tied to continuing the program because a large part of the money was used for downtown building demolition.
