River Romp A Success

BOONE, Iowa---Boone County Landfill Administrator Scott Smith called this year's Dragoon River Romp a success.  Smith says the mid-September, award winning river clean-up program drew more than 120-volunteers.  Early numbers have volunteers removing 2.6 tons of material from the Des Moines River in southern Boone County.  Smith says the day was pretty long, because it involved nine miles of river and the low river level allowed access to quite a bit of the river bed.
