Contract for Dam Repair Approved

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone County Board of Supervisors this week approved the contract between the County and C.L. Carroll Company of Des Moines to do maintenance on the dam at the Don Williams Recreation Area. The project has been budget by the Conservation Board for the past several years, but is finally going to take place with the help of a grant from the DNR. Andy Hockenson, Conservation Director for Boone County, says the work includes lowering the lake level 16 feet, repairing the spillway and allowing the DNR to conduct a fish kill on the lake.
