City Amends Consent Order

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council has approved some changes to a proposed Consent Order received recently from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The Consent Order details expectations for the next phase of the city's Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The amendments to the agreement were developed and directed by the Council's Utility Committee. Committee Chair, Council Member Gary Nystrom says the Committee refuted the Culpability Clause and the expectation that there would never be another sewer back up in the community. The full Council approved the amendments and returned the document to the DNR.
