BOONE, Iowa---Military Appreciation Day will be held at the Boone Municipal Airport, at Galen Wiley Field, Saturday. The event will include a fly-in of rare and antique aircraft as well as vintage military aircraft from the World War II era. Aviation Artist Charles R. Taylor of Ames will unveil a new painting commemorating the one-wheel landing of a B-17 in World War II by Wiley of Boone. Parking and admission are free and the public is welcome to take in the show, Saturday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
