Slight Says Volunteers Made RAGBRAI

BOONE, Iowa---Boone Mayor John Slight says volunteers and the hospitality of Boone residents made the overnight RAGBRAI stop in Boone a real success. Slight says the City hosted thousands during the overnight stop, with people camping in yards, parks, just about anywhere. He says the number of incidents were relatively minor, considering the size of the crowd and the conditions. Slight also says those that were concerned the City and Chamber would lose money will be glad to know that the early projection shows an estimated $20,000 balance in the black. He says final numbers will be available in the next couple of weeks.
