BOONE, Iowa---Changes are coming in the way early childhood services are going to be provided in Boone County. What was Community Empowerment has now become the Early Childhood Iowa Initiative. Boone and Story County are working at collaborating on services being provided to children 0-5 and their families. Service providers will be involved with a Needs Assessment Survey which is expected to help staff develop support for those services. Julie Nash, Boone County Coordinator says the purpose is still to enable local citizens to lead in efforts involving education, health and human services.
