MADRID, Iowa---No additional information has been made available about the condition of a woman injured in a near head on collision north of Madrid Monday morning. Sheriff Ron Fehr did says that deputies were at the scene, however the investigation is being handled by the Iowa State Patrol. At least one driver, and unidentified woman was flown from the scene to a Des Moines Hospital. The accident occurred Monday morning shortly before 10:00. Highway 17 was closed for sometime during clean up of the site.
