City Elections in One Week

BOONE, Iowa---Municipal elections will be held in one week.  For Boone, none of the seats for Mayor or Council are being contested.  Two openings on the Park Commission don't even have candidates.  Meanwhile in Ogden, there are four candidates for three regular Council seats and two candidates are vying to fill an unexpired term on the Ogden Council.  There are races in Boxholm, Luther and also Pilot Mound.  County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Phil Meier says some are wondering about the new voting precincts.  Meier says they don't take affect until 2012.
