PILOT MOUND, Iowa---A farm accident with the application of anhydrous ammonia has resulted in one death and hospitalized several others. Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Morlan says calm weather conditions were a real problem as the toxic cloud covered a large area and kept moving with the variable wind conditions. The operator of the tractor did not survive the exposure. One other is hospitalized in Des Moines and several first responders were or are being treated at the Boone County Hospital.
