BOONE, Iowa---The Salvation Army in Boone County will begin taking applications for Christmas assistance next week. Lt. Bill Rutledge says families and individuals needing assistance will be able to stop at the Salvation Army Office Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 Noon until 6:30 PM. He says a picture ID will be needed and social security numbers for each member of the family along with proof of address. The application deadline is October 28th.
