Park Commission Approves Tree Removal Bid

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone Park Commission has approved a bid for the removal of more than 30 street trees over the next several months. The Commission awarded the contract to Rex Schell Tree Service of Boone for a bid of just under $18,000. John Rouse, Parks and Public Works Director, says the work is all over the community and is part of the regular work done to remove diseased, dead or dying street trees. A lower bid was received from David Chapline of Ogden, but the Commission members opted for the bid from Schell.
