City Council Considers New Precinct Boundaries

BOONE, Iowa---Cities in Iowa with more than 3,500 people have to take a look at drawing new boundaries for voting precincts and the Boone City Council will consider a proposal Monday evening. Last month the Council directed City Staff to put together a plan for consideration. The proposals being considered offer a couple of alternatives, but staff is recommending a plan to move a portion of the 2nd ward into the 3rd ward and a move to shift some of the 3rd ward into the 4th ward. The Council will need to make the changes by amending the precinct boundary ordinance.
