RAGBRAI Impact

BOONE, Iowa---The arrival of RAGBRAI in Boone Tuesday did impact some of the city services. City Administrator Luke Nelson says the city water plant pumped an additional 100,000 gallons of water, not all that much considering the heat. The city water environment station received an additional 200,000 gallons water to be treated. Boone spent about $12,000 to $14,000 on street maintenance, $8,000 on streets that served as RAGBRAI routes. Boone County spent $73,000 on maintenance of county roads that served as a RAGBRAI route.
