Council Accepts Voluntary Annexation Proposal

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council voted to move ahead with the proposed voluntary annexation agreement developed by the City and business in the Boone Industrial Park. The voluntary annexation will take place in seven steps over the next 37 years. Both the City and the businesses in the industrial park spent several months negotiating the settlement. The whole effort was pushed by the City seeking an annexation study. The preliminary review of the study identified five areas the City should consider for annexation, the Industrial Park drew the most attention.
