BOONE, Iowa---The Boone School Board this week adopted a budget which will mean a reduction in staff once again. 8-fulltime positions are being eliminated through early retirement. Two half time positions are being reduced and some of the days on the extended FFA contract are being reduced. Superintendent Brad Manard says the reductions and other cost savings will result in a nearly $722,000 savings. He says the district needed to save at least $710,000. Board members continue to express concerns about the loss of staff and the impact it's having on students.
