BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council found out Monday that Economic Development Director Daryl Rensink intends to retire the end of 2010. Rensink came out of retirment in 2004 and became interim City Administrator when then Administrator Brent Trout was called to active duty. Upon Trout's return, Mayor John Slight convinced Rensink to remain as the Economic Development Director. Since that time, he once again became interim Administrator and led to search that result in the hiring of current Administrator Luke Nelson. Slight says Rensinks announcement will give the city time to decide how they want to pursue Economic Development in 2011.
