BOONE, Iowa---Boone School Board members approved the district's budget for the next fiscal year, and were able to get it done because of early retirements. The Board has accepted 8-early retirement requests this year and will not be replacing the positions. Superintendent Brad Manard says the Boone District has eliminated quite a few positions over the past couple of years and Board members are concerned about the impact on students. Manard says since most of the staff reductions are at the high school level, there will be fewer electives for students.
