Council Approves Park Commission Appointment

BOONE, Iowa---Boone Mayor John Slight nominated Everett Johnson as his appointment to the Boone Park Commission, filling a vacancy created with the resignation of Phil Brown last month for health reasons.  Johnson has previously served on the Boone School Board.  Slight says he feels Johnson will be good addition to the Park Commission and noted that he had received more than a half-dozen applications for appointment from some very good candidates.  The appointment is complete the unexpired term of Brown until the next municipal election in November of 2013.
