Fire Department Handles Gas Leaks

BOONE, Iowa---Boone Fire Fighters spent several hours dealing with a couple of gas leaks Thursday.  The first at Fareway in the Boone Industrial Park when a semi that was being serviced rolled into a shed and struck a 500 gallon LP Tank.  The shop area was evacuated.  Fire fighters were able to shut down the tank on their own.  Winds helped dissipate the gas.  The second occurred Thursday afternoon at a residence at 1534 2nd Street.  Emergency personnel block off the area, but did not evacuate.  The home was ventilated.  The cause of the natural gas leak remains under investigation.
