BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council quickly voted Monday and directed staff to develop a contract for City Attorney with Jim Robbins. Robbins is currently the Boone County Attorney and is expected to step away from those responsibilities to become City Attorney later this year. The City Council had sought quotes for services for the contracted position. Robbins and current City Attorney Alan Schroeder submitted quotes. Robbins proposal appeared to be about $20,000 more than Schroeder's, but Mayor John Slight on "Tuned In" said the City is billed extra by Schroeder for trial. Schroeder has been the Boone City Attorney for more than 30-years.
