Grand Opening Held at Railroad Museum

BOONE, Iowa---The formal ribbon cutting ceremony and Grand Opening were held Saturday at the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum and Historical Center in Boone.  The new museum is tied to the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad.  Construction on the building began in June 2011.  The museum has been open since the Memorial Day weekend, while the finishing touches and displays were put in place.  On hand for the event, James H. Andrew of Jefferson who donated his collection of railroad artifacts and support the project financially.  Andrew's daughter Karen and son James also spoke to the crowd.
