Lampe Wins Republican Nomination

BOONE, Iowa---Former Iowa State Patrolman and current Boone County E-911 Coordinator Rick Lampe has won the nomination to be the Republican candidate for Boone County Sheriff.  Lampe and Madrid Police Chief Rick Tasler both sought the nomination.  The unofficial results have Lampe with 1,098 votes to 507 for Tasler.  The current Chief Deputy in Boone County, Gregg Elsberry is unopposed and will be the Democratic candidate on the November ballot.  The voter turnout in Boone County was pretty in step with the statewide turnout.  Slightly more than 9% of the registered voters actually took time to cast a ballot.  The Boone County break down is available here.
