Council Approves Spending Extra For Library

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone City Council approved spending nearly $20,000 in local option sales tax dollars to repair the air conditioning at the Ericson Public Library.  The Council took the action Monday after finding out that the air has not been working properly for more than a month.  Council member Gary Nystrom did express concern about the dollar amount for the work that was to be done and the Council voted to have him contact the vendor to check on the pricing.  Boone Mayor John Slight said on Tuned In that reserves had been built up to cover the cost of situations just like this.
