Two River Rescues Over the Weekend

BOONE, Iowa---Boone County Sheriff's Deputies and Search and Rescue made two river rescues over the weekend, one after 11:00 PM last Friday and the other about 1:00 AM Saturday.  Both searches were initiated by 9-1-1 calls.  The first on Friday night by three people tubing down the river, trying to go from the US Highway 30 boat ramp to the Luther boat ramp.  They were unable to find the Luther boat ramp in the dark.  The early morning call was made after a group left the Fraser area on a raft and was floating down stream.  Concerns were raised about fog and the fact that alcohol was involved.  The group was located and removed from the river with no injuries.  Deputies did take 24-year old Jodi N Fiferlick of Lehigh into custody on a Wright County warrant.  Deputies also charged 18-year old Brittany Powers of Boone with possession of alcohol under the legal age.
