Fire Department Continues Fan Program

BOONE, Iowa---The Boone Fire Department is taking donations of new box fans to give to those with inadequate cooling in Boone County.  The department started the program earlier this week, when Cooling Centers were established in the County.  Several Boone businesses are cooperating by allowing people to stop and buy a fan and then permitting them to leave it at the store and letting the Fire Department pick it up for distribution.  The elderly, those without air conditioning, low income families and families with children under 8-years of age.  Information on the program and participation are available from the Boone Fire Department at 515-432-3446
